We present a timeline of Canada’s secular and humanist heritage.
1952

Humanist Canada is founded in Montreal as the Humanist Fellowship of Montreal by R. K. Mishra, Ernest Poser, and Maria Jutta Cahn. Bertrand Russell (Lord Russell) and Brock Chisholm were its first patrons.
The Fellowship became a national organization in 1968 with Dr. Henry Morgentaler as its first president. Early Humanist Association of Canada meetings took place quarterly at Dr Morgentaler’s house in Montreal.
The timeline is currently under construction. Think we’re missing something? Let us know!
